Cold weather
It’s official. January is done and February is moving like a Lambo showing off for a pretty girl!
So I’m checking on you today. Are you recovered from the holidays? Did you already give up your ‘new year’ plans to improve your health, attitude or job? Are you looking forward to the next eleven months or just trying to survive today?
Traditionally, in Oklahoma, seems like January & February are the coldest months. So as I sit by the fireplace, sipping mind-numbing hot chocolate and thinking about what’s next, here’s a few things I thought I’d share.
1. It’s ALL hard at times. Doesn’t matter if you are alone or surrounded by friends. Choosing the salad or enjoying the extra fries. Recovering from a loss or welcoming a new beginning. Dressing to impress or relaxing on the couch. There are parts of it that are hard - and some harder for others than you. So give yourself a break and cut others some slack too.
2. Be careful what defines you.
3. Little eyes are always watching. Little ears are always listening. Little feet are always following. Be the person who helps develop good adults in the future. Even if those little ones don’t belong to you.
4. It’s easier to cultivate good relationships into great ones than it is to repair broken ones.
5. Life isn’t lived in a single day. Enjoy the journey.
6. Say your prayers. There’s plenty to be thankful for and you always need help.
7. Stop waiting for the special occasion. Use the good dishes, wear the expensive perfume and eat the dessert. You are not guaranteed tomorrow.
8. Learn to be content with the circumstances even if you didn’t choose them.
9. Drop your shoulders. Relax. It’s really that simple.
Until next time,
