Happy December Sweet Friends!

Happy December Sweet Friends!

December is my most favorite month of the year. I love the decorations. I love the change in nature. The anticipation of Christmas. The way people openly show more kindness. The end of a tax year. Extra family time. Making new goals for the next year. Watching the awesome wonder in children’s eyes. Delicious foods. All of it.

December is also my least favorite month of the year. It’s bunches of extra work. It’s cold. I’m not a fan of shopping. The end of a tax year. Missing family. It’s cold. Strained budgets. Sleep deprivation. Overeating. Did I mention, it’s cold?

Pick any topic and there’s the good vs bad. Pros & cons. But it boils down to perspective, right? My husband, Heath, would have written the above comments about December very differently. He loves to shop and prefers cold weather.

So here’s my unsolicited advice for you as we all wrap up this year and get ready to jump into 2024 . . . .

  • Kindness is never wrong.

  • A smile is always the correct size.

  • The truth will still be standing in the end.

  • You are not always correct.

  • The other guy is not always wrong.

  • Be open to learning something new.

  • Measure your words carefully - they carry great power.

  • Crying washes the soul.

  • When you feel sad, help someone else.

  • Give without expecting any return.

  • Never turn down a child’s offer of invisible food.

Happy ending to 2023 friends and the very best beginnings to the next chapter!

Until next time!
